Jace chats with award-winning writer Alex Segura about his novel Secret Identity. Alex has written podcasts, short stories and comics in addition to his novels and his latest mystery novel is an intriguing tale set in the New York City of the 1970's. Carmen Valdez is an aspiring comic book creator stuck working as a secretary for a small comic book publisher with dreams of writing her own stories. Just when it seems she might have a way to sneak into the male-dominated industry of the time, the murder of one of her colleagues threatens her chance and leads he to try and solve the mystery herself. Filled with rich characters in a nuanced setting, you can nearly smell the newsprint of this classic era of the comic industry. A MUST-READ for comic and mystery fans both!

The return of two characters we didn't expect to see again. Brothers Eddie and Andy, whose father abused them, and the argument could be made that Spawn did not do enough to protect, have arrived in NYC. Spawn is not there to protect them this times as they are quickly caught up in the crime & corruption of the city. Ultimately they do see their "savior" again, but much like other things in Spawn's life, it does not go well.

Absolutely exquisite line & color work in this issue. The subtle shift works so well as the narrative changes slightly. The issue is narrated by a former ally of Jason Winn, who much like Al Simmons has suffered tremendously after having been exploited by the power hungry head of intelligence for years. Plus Cy-Gor's journey has finally ended and he lies in wait for Spawn, just who he is and why he has sought Spawn out will be explored soon.

The War for Earth-3 begins with Amanda Waller and her carefully chosen Suicide Squad invade Earth-3 with an offer for UltraMan that he can't refuse! What is up with the relationship between Superwoman Donna troy and Owlman? Why is Ultraman so upset with it? You have heard of the breaking of the Batman, right? How about the breaking of the Owlman? Who is capable of such a thing? Is Owlman an idiot? How does Johnny Quick come back from the dead? What argument does Amanda Waller make to Ultraman to get him to let her govern Earth 3? And as their collaboration begins hope does it play out in part 2 in Suicide Squad #13?
