Rocky from Comic Boom! and Jace break down the DC Comics titles for the week of September 12, 2023. In anticipation of Batman day on the 16th we have Batman and Robin #1 and Batman Gargoyle of Gotham. Plus Batman Inc comes to a series conclusion. Also the latest issue of Danger Street is a bit of a departure from what has come before, while Superman Lost is much more predictable but no less enjoyable because of that.

Sep 8, 2023

Jace is joined by writer Trevor Fernandes Lenkiewicz and artist Ryan Best for an exclusive announcement about the latest project for Pocket Watch Press, Rise. A superhero story but with a twist, it will explore so very meta themes of masculinity in modern times through the lens of a character who derives his powers very much based on self-perception and his inherent maleness. If its anything like Trevor's previous work, we are expecting great things. Plus with artist Ryan Best pushing himself beyond the traditional look for superhero comics, we are in for one heck of a visual story. There's tons of information about the upcoming campaign, such as expected tiers and a general time frame for the launch of the campaign so listen in.

Jace is back after missing last weeks and the guys do not see eye to eye on the end of Knight Terrors and especially, Gotham War. A 45-minute pre-show discussion spills over into the episode as Rocky feels the Bat-Family has totally dropped the ball and are siding with Selina and he is definitely Team Bruce. Jace is more willing to consider that the proteges of Bruce weren't aware, perhaps purposefully, of what Selina was up to not wanting to confront her without Bruce's approval. Not that Jace is Team Selina, he is actually Team No One as he feels they are both wrong. With that out of the way the attention turns to Book of the Week for both guys as they do agree that Birds of Prey from Kelly Thompson is superb! An honorable mention goes to Blue Beetle as it picks up where the last series left off, while capturing the fun of the recent film as well. Peacemaker Tries Hard, Steelworks and JSA also continue to be great reads! So listen if for more details on these as well as the other DC titles this week.

Sep 4, 2023

Jace is joined by writer Kenny Porter to talk about Spawn. Kenny is on an epic re-read of the first 100 issues to be followed by diving into the next 200 which he hasn't read before. Plus the guys chat about Kenny's current Superboy run and his series, The Schlub, which just kicked off. Listen in!
