More context for Kang in a one-shot that may hint at some future storylines for Marvel and Devil's Reign continues to show the lengths the Kingpin will go to defeat Daredevil and Elektra once and for all. Spawn #11 - Story, Pencils & Inks - Todd McFarlane, Letters - Tom Orzechowski, Colors - Steve Oliff

Jace and Rocky break down Spawn #11 as the 12 Days of Spawn-Mas rolls on. We did it! Well for now because starting in the new year we will have Spawn ... everyday. Meantime, Todd jumps back on the writing duties for issue #12 and we get a bit of a recap of what's happened so far. Also there is the big reveal of who killed Al Simmons, but we wonder if it has enough impact. It might have been better to get a little further along in the story of Simmons past to land this beat with more weight.

Spawn #11 - Story - Frank Miller, Pencils & Inks - Todd McFarlane, Letters - Tom Orzechowski, Colors - Steve Oliff

Jace and Rocky break down Spawn #11 as the 12 Days of Spawn-Mas rolls on. Frank Miller's turn to write Spawn and unfortunately it doesn't hit on all cylinders. The characters, especially the new gangs of villains he introduces come across as a bit two dimensional. McFarlane is at teh top of his game artistically though.

Dec 23, 2021

Jace chats with Color Artist Alex Sinclair, who's been working his color magic for nearly 3 decades. They chat about what it takes to get started as a color artist and make an impactful image, plus a whole lot more. Then Alex colors an iconic Jim Lee piece to show us his process.

Dec 23, 2021

Spawn #10 - Story - Dave Sim, Pencils & Inks - Todd McFarlane, Letters - Tom Orzechowski, Colors - Steve Oliff

Jace and Rocky break down Spawn #10 as the 12 Days of Spawn-Mas rolls on. This time it's trailblazing creator Dave Sim handling the writing and he pulls no punches as his story gets very meta regarding creator rights and how creators of the past were taken advantage of by the business of comics

Dec 22, 2021

Jace is joined by the Bad Idea crew to chat about the company that was. From all the crazy marketing gimmicks, to the much talked about Rules for Comic Shops, this team always played by their own rules. At the end of the day what mattered most was they created some outstanding comics.

Dec 22, 2021

Spawn #9 - Story - Neil Gaiman, Pencils & Inks - Todd McFarlane, Letters - Tom Orzechowski, Colors - Steve Oliff

Jace and Rocky break down Spawn #9 as the 12 Days of Spawn-Mas rolls on. This issue the incomparable Neil Gaiman takes on the writing chores and adds a very fantasy element to the narrative. Going back to ancient times and showing us that hellspawns have existed throughout time, while also showing us the fight with the forces of heaven for the first time. Classic stuff!

Dec 22, 2021

Christmas comes early as Jace and Jay talk about some fantastic books that are a gift to all comic readers. Chicken Devil #3 absolutely blew the guys away and they both chose it as their Book of the Week. Trail of Magneto comes to a close in #5 with a somewhat expected twist, but the repercussions of the series may be what's most long-lasting. We also have the end of the Kang series which was highly satisfying. All this plus so much more and Jace wraps it up with a run down on some other titles you might want to be on the lookout for.

Dec 21, 2021

Spawn #8 - Story - Alan Moore, Pencils & Inks - Todd McFarlane, Letters - Tom Orzechowski, Colors - Steve Oliff

Jace and Rocky break down Spawn #8 as the 12 Days of Spawn-Mas rolls on. We get someone other than McFarlane writing for the first time as the master, Alan Moore handles the writing duties. He expands on the mythos of Spawn and the concept of hellspawns tremendously. Also we aren't sure if it is the fact that McFarlane doesn't have to worry about the writing that frees up his pencils, but we get the best art of the whole series so far in this issue.

Dec 21, 2021

Spawn #7 - Story, Pencils & Inks - Todd McFarlane, Letters - Tom Orzechowski, Colors - Steve Oliff

Jace and Rocky break down Spawn #7 as the 12 Days of Spawn-Mas rolls on. Spawn goes full 90's with guns, bullets & poaches as he fights Overt-Kill for the final time. It's all-out nostalgic action in this issue.

Dec 19, 2021

Spawn #6 - Story, Pencils & Inks - Todd McFarlane, Letters - Tom Orzechowski, Colors - Steve Oliff

Jace and Rocky breaks down Spawn #6 as the 12 Days of Spawn-Mas rolls on. Spawn takes on another super-powered foe for the first time and it doesn't exactly go that way you think it will. Simmons falls back on the old and familiar due to the outcome of the fight which leads to a very 90's ending.

Dec 18, 2021

Jace and Rocky breaks down Spawn #5 as the 12 Days of Spawn-Mas rolls on. No subtly in this one as McFarlane wants to be sure we all know what side Al Simmons is on. We are introduced to a truly reviled villain who, after a horrific act, is brought to justice by Spawn.

Dec 17, 2021

Jace and Rocky welcome superstar artist Brett Booth to the show. It's been awhile since Brett has been on, so there is a lot to talk about. They discuss his current gig on Gunslinger Spawn, the recent & very successful Kickstarter campaign for The Anybodies and Brett's upcoming creator-owned work through Artists Elite. Plenty of Back lash talk too, don't worry.

Dec 17, 2021

Spawn #4 - Story, Pencils & Inks - Todd McFarlane, Letters - Tom Orzechowski, Colors - Steve Oliff

Jace and Rocky march on with their goal to read every issue of Spawn, starting with the first 12 leading into Christmas with 12 Days of Spawn-Mas. In issue #4 we get the fight we have been waiting for as Spawn and the Violater have a fight for the ages which includes blasting holes in each other and sending limbs flying. Just when you think things can't get any wilder, their master shows up and they realize they are both no more than pawns to a much more powerful entity.

Dec 16, 2021

Jace recaps his recent trip to LACC and sits down with the CEO of Comikaze, the company behind the show, Chris DeMoulin.

Dec 16, 2021

Jace and Rocky break down issue #3 of Spawn as poor Al Simmons takes blow after blow while trying to regain his life. Ultimately this does not leave our favorite hellspawn in a very good mood when the Violater comes calling.

Dec 15, 2021

Jace and Rocky are joined by Jake to talk about Spawn #2. To celebrate the 12 Days of Spawn-Mas the guys will be reviewing one issue of the record-setting creator owned title from Todd McFarlane for each of the 12 days leading up to Christmas. Also there is a special announcement regarding a Spawn project for next year! You don't want to miss this episode that introduces on of the fan favorite characters of the series, the Violater! Also tons of talk about how well the series has held up over time.

Dec 15, 2021

Jace chats with the creators of Winona Forever, a charming story set in the eighties. In the best tradition of fun adventure tales starring kids, like Stranger Things or Goonies, this story is about the special bonds that can only from when you are that magical age of 11-14. This all ages story has something for everyone as we meet the 4 main characters and learn about their search for a supernatural relic. but in a lot of ways, these four outsiders are searching for a place to belong and like so many of us as that time, they are searching for their own identities

Dec 15, 2021

Jace talks about a few of the books hitting stands this week. Hulk #2 has a crazy cliffhanger, the second issue of Newburn brings some big and interesting ideas into the fold and My Date with Monsters builds out context for the fresh ideas presented in it's debut issue.
